Hair Wrapping

Hair Wrapping

The History of Hair Wrapping…

For centuries Hair Wrapping and Hair Beading has been a rite of passage for many tribes people throughout the world. Even though our own modern day version of Hair Wrapping can last anywhere from 2 weeks to several months (depending on how well you take care of them) tribes people would keep these wraps in for life constantly updating and changing them!

Frequently Asked Questions about Hair Wrapping:

Q. How long does it last?
A. It can last anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months depending on how well you take care of them!

Q. How do I take care of my Hair Wrap?
A. Do not brush it, comb it, or pull it! Although you can shampoo your hair, conditioner is not advised as it will loosen the wrap.

Q. Can I go swimming?
A. Yes. Although constant sun and bleach can fade the colors of the string over time.

Q. Do I have to cut it out?
A. No you do not need to cut it out regardless of where it is placed. Cut the bottom knott and gently unravel. Conditioner and or baby oil can loosen the string making it easier to take out.

Q. Can I re-use the wrap?
A. Although you cannot re-use the string from the wrap, you can re-use the beads and charms that are attached to the end of the wrap. Many people like to take the beads & charms and make them into bracelets or other forms of jewelery!
